It’s time to leverage technology to predict, detect, and prevent megafires and make fire data accessible to the community.
WE HAVE THREE URGENT GOALS
Double the Federal Investment in wildfire science & technology innovation to promote resilient and healthy forests
- Launch a Federal Wildfire Intelligence Center
- Build policy that promotes R+D, science, and innovation
- Advance contracting and the culture of acquiring innovation
Address structural barriers to progress
- Fix Forest Service workforce concerns
- Focus on accountability and metrics; use outcome-based measures
- Enact changes to promote recovery and forest health
Forge a sustainable pathway to treat and make our ecosystems wildfire-resilient
- Promote rural economy/biomass markets
- Achieve sustained federal and state investment
- Enable Insurance and Utility to have a role in risk reduction
